History and architecture

The name Kirribilli is derived from an Aboriginal word Kiarabilli, which means 'good fishing spot'. The suburb was part of a grant to James Milson after whom Milsons Point was named. Kirribilli boasts many historic homes, from magnificent freestanding residences to terraces and character apartments, the majority of which have been beautifully renovated. The magnificent sandstone harbourfront estate Admiralty House is home to Australia’s Governor General and neighbouring Kirribilli House is one of the two official residences of the Prime Minister.

Transport

Kirribilli is exceptionally convenient and accessible, with bus, train and ferries from three wharves all taking you rapidly to the CBD.
