Retail and culture

Neutral Bay village has emerged as the Lower North Shore’s culinary hot spot, with a lively café and restaurant scene along and around Military Road which buzzes with energy day and night. A number of local supermarkets, specialty retailers and commercial services mean that Neutral Bay residents need not go far to find what they’re looking for.

History and architecture

The name Neutral Bay originates from the early colonial period where different bays were zoned for different incoming vessels. This bay was where all foreign vessels would dock, hence the name neutral. Architecturally it’s comprised of stately Federation houses and semis, medium-density townhouses and some post-war apartment buildings. Kurraba Point, now its own suburb within the 2089 postcode, is home to some of the area’s most distinguished and historic residences, many capturing magnificent harbour views.

Transport

Just 5km away, the Sydney CBD is easily accessible by bus and ferry for a quick and scenic commute.
