History and architecture
Originally inhabited by the Borogegal tribe, Mosman is named after shipping and whaling identities Archibald Mosman and his twin brother George. It has been the site of important maritime and defence stations since 1801. Mosman's architecture is diverse, with styles ranging from grand turn-of-the-century estates on vast blocks to California bungalows, Art Deco units and the latest cutting edge boutique townhouses and apartments, with many capitalising on breathtaking harbour views.
Transport
The Mosman area is well served by buses including the free community bus the Mosman Rider, along with ferries which operate from three wharves.
